  This is the Lionel Prewar “O”-gauge RED COMET SET from 1935. It is the complete 5-piece train plus the RED transformer. The cars and transformer come with original boxes (some end-flaps missing and some taped). 264-E Commodore Vanderbilt 2-4-2 Locomotive with headlight. The engine AND transformer HAVE BOTH been tested and the engine runs fine (see attached video of the train running). Everything is ORIGINAL, UNPAINTED and UNRESTORED. This is some minor paint loss, but NO damage. Paint finish still shines. Car and locomotive undersides also clean. Just a NICE SET.   Very nice battery operated Playskool Express Train Set in very good condition. Includes: locomotive (tested, works), 3 train cars, 21 pieces of track including 3 straight, 11 curved, left hand turn with switch, on/off control attached to track, 2 bridge tracks, crossing gate/re-railer, simple intersection, and on-ramp with bumper stop. Also includes flatbed truck, 3 pipes with loading tower, 3 crates, two yellow fence pieces for top of bridge (not pictured), and 4 new C batteries. Missing two black hooks for connecting the cars are replaced by lamp chain connectors. Instructions found at Hasbro. Com. Engine makes a buzzing noise for one to two seconds when first moving forward. Reverse gear does not appear to work.
