  VINTAGE POST WAR 1946 LIONEL TRAIN SET 1439WS + MORE. This is my childhood train set my dad bought me in 1946. DESCRIPTION OF ORIGINAL SET. 1439WS, circa 1947 in individual boxes containing; 2025 black 2-6-2 steam loco, 2466WX tender, 2465 silver Sunoco two dome tank, 3454 automatic merchandise car, 3559 red automatic dump car, 2257 caboose, 1019 remote control track set, type S 80-watt transformer, 61 straight sections of track, 41 curve sections of track, 2 bottle of smoke pellets, ½. Bag of 207 artificial coal, two 160 bins, five 6 Baby Ruth cubes, instruction sheets, operating booklet and service station pamphlet. The loco is the version with the aluminum smoke stack. All but caboose boxes are the original and the transformer box has original cardboard inserts. Several individual boxes have repair and have some replaced interior flaps. I just went over it and inspected cleaned and tested. All operating couplers and cars function. A new pellet smoke heater in engine. New cables on switches and controls as needed. New Light Bulbs in Controls and Lights. New whistle diode in transformer. All Boxes have original inserts. Caboose box is not Lionel. Lionel Model S Transformer w/Whistle. 3559 Operating Coal Dump Car. W/ ½ Bag of Coal. 3454 Pen Mechanical Box Car w/6 crates. 2452 Pen Gondola w/4 Wood Barrels. 2257 Caboose w/ Alternate Box. Lionel Track and Switches. 1121 Pair of Switches. 6019 Coupler Track Control. 1019 Operating Track Control. 610 Manual Switch Pair. 421 Crossing Guard Lights. 065 Water Tower In box. O27 Straight Track 44pc. O27 Curve Track 29pc. 3 Short straight Track. Marx O27 Straight 17pc. Marx O27 Curve 12pc. 2 Cargo Dump Trays. ½ full jars. Dimensions: 13 x 17 x 24.   I have no ideahow to test them or set these up. Just trying to be very overly honest. On the other hand they look to be in good shape from my novice humble opinion. If it sounds that way its just because the written word comes out different at times than the spoken. This is all said to not let you down. But – I dont think you will be. I think these are Awsome!!! Big coal piece – minute man 3665 – Newark Lionel lines 2434- Lionel savings bank 6050 – Lionel lines 6517 12/55- western pacific 6464 5/53 – Lionel 60 32 – Lionel 6037 – engine 2037 027? – engine 1666 027? Lionel lines 2657 – Lionel lines Sunoco 2680 – an number 2620 – a number 3659 – a number 3650 – tender 2689 – tender 243w- a baby Ruth – one I can find marking. Lots of track different go switches older ones? Trees boxes (boxes little rough shape to missing pieces of box) a few instruction papers! There is Wear and markings and scuffs and more from being so old! But overall from my humble opinion – good shape overall – some cleaning necessary! Some may not work – have no idea!!! Easier for you and me lol. I never played with trains as a kid lol. I have a ton of opened and boxed ho scale I will be listing as well! Take a look – great condition and a lot.
