Con-Cor N Scale C&O Passenger Set #0001-004307, E-8 A/B/A & 5 Cars with Interiors
N scale Con-Cor Chesapeake & Ohio Passenger Set consisting of E-8 A/B/A Locomotives (one powered & 2 dummies) and 5 passenger cars, all in. Very Good Overall Condition. The 3 engine chassis’ were made in Japan while their body shells were made by Rivarossi in Italy, and the 5 cars were made in Germany. Road #s are: Powered E-8A 4018, Dummy E-8A unnumbered, Dummy E-8B unnumbered, Coach 7678, Sleeper (I think) 2606 “City of Newport News” (there are 2 of this car), Vista Dome 850 & Tail Car unnumbered. As you can see, Con-Cor didn’t do a great job with the body paint on the set. But that’s certainly the way it was made. Take a look at the photos (enlarged) and see what you think. All factory-installed detail parts appear to be present. The set appears to have been very gently run for just a little while because all the wheels are pretty clean and don’t indicate more than “light” use. In both directions and the directional headlight worked. This is an attractive set with all 5 cars having interior seating, and entire set has factory-installed rapido couplers. The set box is only in fair condition at best, so don’t expect too much with it. It appears one corner on box bottom got wet at one time, but the contents don’t seem to have been affected. I cleaned the box as best I could, but it is still stained/torn with tape on it. Fairly heavy set with large box, it will be a 3-4 lb.
