American Flyer Prewar Tinplate Train Set-3195 & Tender 3150 3150 3152 Very Nice
For your consideration, here is prewar American Flyer tinplate 1920’s to early 1930’s train set. This set has a name but for the life of me I can’t remember what it is. If I get time I’ll look it up. The set consists of the American Flyer 3195 locomotive with correct tender, and the cars include one 3150 baggage car, one 3151 passenger car, and one 3152 observation car. When snapping some photo’s for this listing, I ran it around a small layout loop 8-10 times and it ran fantastic. The locomotive got back from the shop just a few weeks before listing. This loco is so nice and so sharp yet… I would guess through the years I have been lucky enough to own 25-30 AF 3195 loco’s, this one by far is the nicest of them all. Paint still holds it’s original shine. Very nice clean engine. While in the shop the wheels were re-gauged. The headlight works as it should. Wiring checked out and replaced if needed. A professional shop did the work. Loco has the brass bell above the headlight. Original brass trim is nice. Bottom line it just doesn’t get any nicer. I oiled it up and it’s ready for your layout. On my temp layout I have around 20 feet of track with only one feeder wire. No matter where I stopped this loco, it was extremely responsive starting and stopping immediately. Even when pulling the cars… And it goes faster than you’ll ever need it to! I’m biased because I love the little Flyer loco’s, but this one truly is exceptional. 10 pics just isn’t near enough to show you everything I want to. If you need more all you need to do is ask, that’s easy to do.. The tender and cars I don’t think I need to get into too awful much as the pics are a great representation. This set is a “played with” set, it’s been appreciated by some youngster, it has paint scuffs and scratching as my photo’s will show, but it still does everything today that it did in the late 20’s and early 30’s, and it looks great doing it.
